Why was the run postponed?

We made the difficult decision to move the Great Highnam Court Run to Sunday 14th March 2027 due to lower-than-expected ticket sales, potentially influenced by another major local running event taking place the same weekend.Rather than compromise on the experience, we felt postponing was the right decision. It gives us more time to build on feedback from last year, refine the route and organisation, and deliver the enjoyable, well-run event our participants deserve.

Can I enter on the day?

Only if spaces are available - we recommend booking in advance.

Is the event suitable for beginners?

Yes, the 5K is ideal for first-time runners.

Question 4

Are dogs allowed?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in the Canicross category only. If you bring a dog, you will be required to pick up any dog mess.

Bags will be provided.

There will also be dog treats, water and lots of fusses available for your canine companion (if you allow us to!)

Will there be refreshments?

Yes — food, drinks and stalls will be available.

Water stations will be available at the start/finish lines as well as dotted around the course.

Food will be available to purchase from vendors attending the event.

Is the course wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately due to the terrain of the Court gardens, the course is not wheelchair accessible.

The Cricket Club and the rest of the Court gardens are fully accessible.

Are there toilets and changing facilties?

Accepted Answer

Yes - the toilets adjacent to the Highnam Community centre will be open. There is space for changing there too. The cricket club does have new shower cubicles which can also be used for changing/showering.

Can my family and friends come to support me?

Yes! We welcome spectators - and this year, Higham Court have kindly allowed spectators to sit within the gardens too!

I want to run for a charity, is that allowed?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We would love you to support a charity of your choice. We have provided a donation form on our website for you to use if you wish.

Please liaise directly with your chosen charity to set up a way for people to sponsor you and so you can pass the funds you raise to your charity of choice, directly.

Let us know which charity you are supporting and we will get in touch so we can collaborate and support them!

To ensure all funds raised through ticket sales are used to support the development of the cricket club, we are looking for local businesses to support the event.
