The Great Highnam Court Run is a community-led event organised by volunteers from Highnam Court Cricket Club.
The event was originally created to bring people together through sport while showcasing the unique beauty of Highnam Court — a private estate that is only open to the public on a limited number of occasions each year.
After a pause during the COVID-19 pandemic, the run returned in 2025, attracting runners from across Gloucestershire and beyond. The event raised around £2,000, which has been invested into refurbishing the cricket pavilion — helping to create a more welcoming space for players, families and visitors.
The updated pavilion will be unveiled in 2026, marking an important milestone for the club and the wider community.
.
Looking ahead, the aim is to continue growing the event while keeping its friendly, inclusive atmosphere — offering people of all abilities the chance to take part, enjoy the grounds and support local sport.
About Highnam Court
Highnam Court itself is a separate entity from the Cricket Club but as it sits on the outskirts of its grounds, the relationship between the Court and the Cricket Club has been strong for decades. Owner and resident of Highnam Court, Roger Head, has supported the Cricket Club for many years and has kindly given us access to the Court to raise vital funds for the Cricket Club.
