Everything you need to know
We want your experience at the Great Highnam Court Run to be smooth, enjoyable and safe. Please read the following information carefully ahead of race day.
Location and arrival
The race starts and finishes at Highnam Court Cricket Ground (Church Field).
Highnam Court Cricket Club is behind the Community Centre which is located in the village of Highnam on the outskirts of the city of Gloucester. It is three miles northwest of the city on the A40.
Directions from Gloucester.

Take A40 out of Gloucester (signposted Ross on Wye)

When you get to the roundabout which takes you left on to the A48 or straight over to continue on the A40 - take the third exit on the roundabout to access Highnam Court - the entrance is concealed but will be signposted.

Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your run starts.
Timings are being confirmed but the first race will start around 9am.
Race day timings

10K Canicross: 9:30am

5K Canicross: 9:45am

5K: 10:30am

10K: approx. 11:00am
Please note timings may vary slightly on the day.
The Route
The course is a scenic, mixed-terrain route through the private Highnam Court estate.

The race begins in Church Field, looping around Holy Innocents Churchyard

Runners then enter open fields before moving into the estate grounds

The route passes alongside lakes, landscaped gardens and parkland

You’ll run past the rose garden and along hidden woodland paths featuring sculptures and ponds

The final stretch follows a footpath back towards Church Field for the finish
The 5K is one lap, while the 10K completes two laps.
Please note: the terrain includes grass, paths and uneven ground in places.
A water station will be available approximately halfway through each lap.
Registration
On arrival, follow signage to the registration area where you will:

Collect your race number

Receive your timing tag
Please allow plenty of time before your race start.

Bag drop available at the cricket pavilion

Toilets and changing facilities available in nearby village halls

These areas will be monitored during the event

Food and drink vendors will be available for participants and spectators
Facilities
Prizes and results
All runners will receive:

A finisher’s medal

Their official finishing time
Trophies will be awarded to:

Top 3 men and women (5K & 10K)

Top 3 Canicross finishers

Top team (based on combined results)

First aiders will be on site throughout the event

Marshals will be positioned around the course

Safety
Running for a charity
We would love for participants to run for a charity of their choice.
You can find a sponsorship form here, alternatively, work with your chosen charity to organise a way to fundraise.
Please liaise directly with the charity but let us know who you will be supporting and we will be happy to support them by adding their information to our website.
